ColourPop Butterfly Pressed Shadows Reviews & Swatches (Part 1 of 2)

ColourPop Friendly Pressed Powder Shadow ($4.50 for 0.04 oz.) is a light-medium lavender with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish.  It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which applied well to bare skin and blended out easily without sheering out too readily.  The texture was soft, lightly powdery in the pan, so I'd recommend using a lighter hand to avoid too much product on one's brush.  It wore nicely for eight hours on me before fading noticeably. ColourPop Nectar Pressed Powder Shadow ($4.50 for 0.04 oz.) is a light pink with warmer undertones and iridescent, bluish shimmer Continue Reading…

Tom Ford Golden Mink Eye Color Quad Review & Swatches

Golden Mink Tom Ford Beauty Golden Mink Eye Color Quad ($75.00 for 0.35 oz.) has returned for the holidays in new, gold-hued packaging and with a softer price point–a mere $75 instead of the typical $88. While I don’t have the specially-packaged version, this is a newly-received palette, so it should be comparable to what is currently being sold on the market (apparently, I did not review it years ago!). For those who are typically fan of the brand’s usual eyeshadow formula–not the more gel-powder version–this is in line with that. For those who prefer the intensity and depth of the gel-powder formula, this may be a little dustier, plus it contains two of the more emollient, sparkling shades (that...

ColourPop Good as Gold Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Good as Gold Colour Pop Good as Gold 12-Pan Pressed Powder Shadow Palette ($18.00 for 0.36 oz.) is a new, gold-themed palette featuring four matte shades, two Pressed Glitters, and the remaining shades were shimmers. I believe that 24K is a Super Shock Shadow (cream-to-powder formula) based on performance and feel. Aside from the glitters, the eyeshadows performed fairly well; they were pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing with two mattes having a slightly thinner/firmer press but applied without difficulty. One shimmer, Au Team, had a very different texture than we’ve seen from ColourPop shimmers; it was quite heavy, thick, and only worked well with fingertips. 2 3 Good as Gold Good as Gold B+ Limited Edition Where to Buy Affiliate Links...

Natasha Denona Palette 13 Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Palette 13 Natasha Denona Palette 13 Eyeshadow Palette 5 ($48.00 for 0.4 oz.) is a cohesive set of shades featuring three mattes and two shimmers. It’s a more standalone palette as there was a good mix of depth and finish, though as a smaller palette, it will be most versatile as a complementary palette. The performance was somewhat better than the older versions I have, but they weren’t quite as improved as I have seen some of the shades come over time. I don’t know if this is the most current formulation available, but it is one of the newer ones (somewhere between all the iterations), as the back of the palette has a 12M timer on it (compared to...

Natasha Denona Palette 08 Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Palette 08 Natasha Denona Palette 08 Eyeshadow Palette 5 ($48.00 for 0.4 oz.) contains five shimmery shades, though Smoky Quartz and Dark Sepia have more of a satin-to-pearl finish, while the other three are more metallic. It was somewhat improved over the older formula (from early 2016) that I reviewed, but it’s not as improved as I’ve found some of the other newer formulas to be. I don’t know if this is the most current formulation available, but it is one of the newer ones (somewhere between all the iterations), as the back of the palette has a 12M timer on it (compared to 24M on the newest formulas I’ve seen) and still contains more emollient ingredients but seems to...
